Rainbow Angus is a modern, full-time, industry-leading cattle operation. Every aspect of our day to day operation is performed and managed by the owners. At Rainbow Angus the Cow is Everything! We focus on structurally-sound, complete cattle that will add to our customers' bottom line. We maintain a moderate, mature-cow size, while maximizing developmental growth on our forages. As a result, we’ve built a herd of reproductively-efficient cows that must annually raise a calf to weaning on range conditions. Each cow is evaluated every day of her life for these characteristics. We look for feed efficiency in every segment of our herd; it won’t be in the calves at the feedlot if it is not in the cow. Again, it all comes back to the cow!

We do not breed fad cattle or participate in cattle marketing schemes. We use AHIR data to evaluate early performance of calf and dam. Our A.I. sires are selected from a pool we have been evaluating for years. Both sides of our calves' pedigrees must be cattle that are proven to meet the strict criteria we require for our cows. We have eliminated all of the extreme growth genetics of the 70’s and 80’s because of inconsistency. Line breeding is used to propagate the genetically superior individuals, giving us more individuals with greater genetic consistency. Our summer grasses, Bahia/Bermuda are 6% protein and full of water at best. With temperatures in the high 90’s, and humidity that will take your breath away, little or no performance is expected from mid-June to mid-September. They are not extreme-numbered, bucket-performance cattle. Our rigorous selection process is what makes our cattle different. Cattle, it’s all we do. There is a difference!
